Science, Technology & Society I
1.00 Unit            Wt. 1.00            PD/WK 05
Offered in Grades 11,12
Prerequisite: Living Environment and General Chemistry

This course uses a teaming approach to research, development and production making it an unusual course of study.  Students are assigned a research project dealing with one of the major topics in science or related to science.  Students use the computer on a daily basis, as hands on laboratory exercise, to learn to work together, compile researched information and generate a multimedia interactive program. Students are taught: computer operating systems, a mid range multimedia authoring package, scanning software, sound implementation, the Internet as a source of up-to-date information, and a variety of in depth topics in science.  Students write each and every activity into a daily logbook.
