Laughing lowers levels of stress hormones and strengthens the immune
system. Six-year-olds laugh an average of 300 times a day. Adults only laugh 15 to 100 times a day.

Dogs can not eat chocolate because it contains theobromine, a bitter
tasting alkaloid found in the cocoa bean. It can affect the central
nervous system, heart muscles, and increase urination. (Thank you, Jenna)

The Galapagos Islands were once called The Enchanted Islands because
they disappeared into the fog at certain times of year and sailors could
not find them.
Between 3 million and 5 million years ago, a group of
volcanoes erupted from the sea floor off the coast of South America.
Their tips broke the surface and formed what we call the Galapagos
Islands. They had no creatures at all and and some 500,000 years ago
a tropical storm blew small birds more than 1,000 km. across the Pacific
to these islands - finches. Even though these finches were
originally the same species, there was variation among them. Each major island of the Galapagos, with the exception of Isabela,
consists of a single large shield volcano. Isabela was formed from
six volcanoes joined above sea level.
