Greek and Latin roots will help you interpret
the meaning of words and biological terms.*
Assignment:
You will use a marble notebook (the same one
you use for Newsworthy Articles) to keep your dictionary. Allocate two
pages for each letter (you could use less for q,x,z,etc.) and ,if possible, put
tabs for easy access to the letters. Using the enclosed websites, a dictionary
and/or a dictionary of Latin and Greek origins, you will create your very own
Dictionary. For each of the terms, establish its root syllable(s) and definition
and then write the definition of the word.
Example: dejected - thrown down.
syllable: de = down
ject = throw Dictionary meaning - depressed.
Osteopathology - syllables: osteo =
bone
path = disease of
ology = study of the study of diseases of the
bone.**
Dictionary meaning - The study of diseases of the
bone.
